The term Feng Shui (pronounced “Fung Shway”) comes from an ancient Chinese poem which describes the following desirable conditions:

The Creative/Supportive Cycle:

• Earth under pressure hardens into metal (minerals)

• Water feeds wood (plants)

The Adverse Cycle:

• Wood uproots earth (as a blade of grass sprouts it pushes the earth aside)
• Earth blocks/dams water (water becomes muddy)
• Water extinguishes fire
• Fire melts metal
• Metal chops wood
